Sacred choral music of Ukraine

Classical and contemporary pieces
During their tour of Dutch concert halls the choir present a programme of classical and contemporary works by modern composers and arrangements of folk songs. The magical choral sounds of Ukraine, rooted in the Eastern Orthodox and Byzantine tradition in a versatile repertoire of contemporary arrangements by modern Ukrainian composers, but also international composers like Arvo Pärt, Aleksandar Schetinsky and Velentin Silvestrov.
The choir was founded in 2002. All its members are professional musicians. Conductor Bogdan Plish is the winner of the Grand Prix of the Ukrainian competition for choral conductors and is the choir master of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine.
The choir has received acclaim from the most influential musicians both at home and abroad. The repertoire consists of a capella music from the 16th to the 21st century, as well as folk music and cantatas and oratorios performed in collaboration with the country’s most prestigious orchestras. When performing sacred music the singers strive to achieve unity of the highest artistic level of performance and sincere inspiration.
