Concert CCQ in Klein Wetsinge

Chris Corstens Quartet

The Chris Corstens Quartet to give an afternoon performance at the church in Klein Wetsinge on Sunday 21 May.

Jazz Quartet
This unique jazz quartet, comprising sax, percussion, piano and cello have made quite a name for themselves with the release of their new CD Treiffel. The newspaper ‘Dagblad van het Noorden’ calls their music ‘quirky Amsterdam jazz influenced by Mengelberg and Monk (bouncy rhythms) as well as Sean Bergin and Sonny Rollins (Caribbean feel)’.

A feast for the ears
Jazzenzo Jazz Magazine writes: ‘Listening to saxophonist Chris Corstens is a feast for the ears. That's the shortest possible way of describing his qualities as a musician but also the best. This Amsterdam based musician is a master of the soprano and tenor saxophone.”

Band
Chris Corstens - tenor and soprano sax
Oscar Jan Hoogland - piano
Harald Austbø - cello
Martin van Leusden - drums
