Seven voices, seven friends, one sound
On Sunday afternoon, February 18th, the a capella group New Amsterdam Voices will perform in concert at the church in Klein Wetsinge.
The New Amsterdam Voices is an a capella septet from Amsterdam. Their refreshing sound, a mix of jazz and pop, will captivate you from start to finish. June Fermie, Vera Buijnk, Minka Bodemann, Hebe Vrijhof, Pepijn van der Sande and Willem de Beer all studied jazz at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Maartje Meijer is their arranger and producer.
Since 2011 the New Amsterdam Voices have performed at various important venues in The Netherlands. In 2014 they participated in the international a capella competition Vokal Total in Graz, Austria and won second prize in the jazz category and third prize in the pop category. The New Amsterdam Voices took master classes from Kim Nazarian (New York Voices), Peter Eldridge (New York Voices), Anders Jalkéus (The Real Group) and Michele Weir (New York Voices and Manhattan Transfer). On February 18th the New Amsterdam Voices will perform a broad repertoire of familiar and as yet unfamiliar pieces, from jazz to beautiful singer-songwriter compositions.
