Concert winners Podium Prize
On Saturday 5 March the Podium Trio will give a concert in the Remonstrant Church.
The Podium Trio (Jan Kuiper, Paul van Kemenade, Wolter Wierbos) is a unique ensemble. It takes its name from the Podium Prize, which each member won individually in three consecutive years (1983, 1984 and 1985). For thirty years the Trio has stood for originality of composition and a unique combination of improvisational styles that can be found nowhere else. Be it Afro-American jazz, pop music, free jazz, funk or Indian music, the Trio plays it all with incredible ease and a crystal clear ensemble sound.
Boys of Pearl
For almost thirty years the Podium Trio has performed all over the world at the most prestigious festivals. Last season’s tour, Boys of 57 (the year they were born and the year they all turned 57), proved that the Trio gets better with each passing year. This year the Podium Trio celebrates its 30th anniversary: Podium Trio – Boys of Pearl. As special guests the Trio has invited the best rhythm section in the world: Jamaaladeen Tacum on bass and Cornell Rochester on drums.
Admission: € 20,-
Tickets available online until 4 p.m. on Friday 4 March.
Tickets will be available at the door prior to the concert.
