Dutch Chamber Choir sings in the Der Aa-church
On Thursday 23rd October the Dutch Chamber Choir, conducted by Paul McCreesh, will perform a programme of music by English composers in the Der Aa-church.
Who better to lead the search through the treasure troves of English Choral music than Paul McCreesh, founder of the Gabrieli Consort & Players? In the Netherlands he is always a welcome guest, but this is the first time that he has conducted the Dutch Chamber choir since 1996. Composers such as Howells, Elgar and Britten feature prominently in this programme that highlights 19th and 20th century British choral repertoire.
Programme:
Elgar – Give unto the Lord
Gibbons (arr. Dearmer) – Drop, drop, slow tears
Walton – A litany: Drop, drop slow tears
Howells – A sequence for St. Michael
MacMillan – A Child’s Player
Elgar – They are at rest
Britten – Rejoice the Lamb
