The Netherlands Chamber Choir sings Bach
On Thursday March 12th, in the Der Aa Church, the Netherlands Chamber Choir directed by Erik van Nevel will perform works that were inspired by Bach.
Bach? Yes, Bach. The programme Bach, Bach, Bach is a programme that will delight Bach-lovers. Johann Sebastian Bach’s motets were the inspiration for the Belgian conductor and specialist Erik van Nevel, who is also the artistic leader and conductor of the Flemish top ensemble Currende. But Johann Sebastian's son Carl Philippe Emanuel Bach also composed some beautiful motets. Not as well-known but certainly as well-loved among aficionados. And Bach was a source of inspiration for the breathtakingly beautiful Immortal Bach, by the Norwegian composer Knut Nystedt. This piece undoubtedly ranks as a top favourite on the ‘Heart and Soul’ list of choral music lovers in the Netherlands.
