Sunday January 17th the Aa Church presents an evening with the Norwegian author Karl Ove Knausgård.
Tickets for this evening were rapidly sold out and 140 extra tickets are now also sold out.
This evening Knausgård will be interviewed by Kester Freriks and there will be a forum discussion with Knausgård readers about their fascination for his six part saga/autobiography My Struggle. Musical accompaniment will include recordings of Knausgård’s own band Lemen.
The series My Struggle is an unprecedented literary project of six books in which Karl Ove Knausgård writes openly about himself and his family. His work has caused controversy among both the press and public as well as his relatives. He values the support of his wife Linda more than ever, who with her bipolar disorder has suffered the consequences of his literary ambitions. Was it worth it? Knausgård writes touchingly about identity, humanity, literature, art, history and in an essayistic intermezzo he deals with Evil. In search of emotions his writing surpasses reason and leaves no one unmoved.
The long-awaited last volume of the My Struggle series is a powerful finale to a project that is unrivalled in contemporary literature.
Extra tickets for this evening are sold out.
Doors open at 7.30 p.m.
The interview starts at 8 p.m.
