Festival of Lessons and Carols
On Christmas Eve the Roden Boys Choir once again present a traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols: nine Advent and Christmas readings from the Bible interspersed with traditional and contemporary Christmas carols.
The tradition was first started eighty years ago by King’s College Choir in Cambridge and was introduced in the Netherlands by the Roden Boys Choir about twenty years ago. The concert is held by candlelight, just as it is in Cambridge, and the boys are dressed in traditional Anglican choir gowns. The audience is invited to sing along with the choir in some of the carols and hymns.
The Roden Boys Choir, conducted by Rintje A. te Wies
Accompanied by organist Sietze de Vries.
