Under the baton of Louis Buskens
On Thursday 4 May the choir and orchestra of the Prins Claus Conservatoire will perform the Requiem Mass by Mozart in the Aa Church.
Life, Death and Ritual
Prior to the concert students of the Zernike College will present an educational project made in collaboration with Classical Music students and composer/conductor Hannah Conway, a composition entitled ’Life, Death and Ritual’. Hannah Conway is specialized in concert programmes for and by young people. She has worked for orchestras and opera houses all over the world and has written operas in twelve different languages.
At 8 p.m. two minutes of silence will be observed, as May 4th is Remembrance Day in the Netherlands. Afterwards the audience can enjoy Mozart’s Requiem, performed by the orchestra and choir of the Prins Claus Conservatoire conducted by Louis Buskens.
In the world of top level amateur choirs Louis Buskens is a well-known name. He is the conductor of the Noord Nederlands Concertkoor, the Nederlands Concertkoor and the Brabant Koor, with which he has made several large-scale productions. He was attached to many professional opera and orchestra productions as assistant conductor and choir conductor. Louis Buskens currently teaches choral conducting at the conservatories in Groningen and Tilburg.
