Muy hermosa es María – The Codex Ibarra
Música Temprana present the concert series Muy hermosa es María – The Codex Ibarra. For many years this ensemble, directed by Adrián Rodríguez Van der Spoel, has studied and performed Latin-American renaissance and baroque music. This Christmas concert focuses on the sparkling baroque music of Ecuador, especially music written from a female perspective and traditionally performed by women.
Música Temprana has explored the renaissance and baroque repertoire of Latin-America and the Spanish empire and traced the evolution of Latin-American music from the day the first conquistadors set foot in the New World. Most of the musicians’ roots lie in the culture of Latin-America - a guarantee for a passionate performance!
