On Friday 21 June 2019 the renowned St. Salvator's Chapel Choir from Scotland will join the Roden Girl Choristers for a concert in the Aa Church in Groningen: Cathedral Music. Singing together or separately the choirs will perform music of the Anglican choral tradition.
This is the second time that the Chapel Choir will be visiting the Choral School Noord-Nederland in Roden, home base for the Roden Girl Choristers. Artistic leader Sonja de Vries: 'We are familiar with the Anglican tradition and are joining forces to present some of the highlights of the English choral tradition. For a few young choristers who are still in the training choir this evening marks their debut with the concert choir. An excellent opportunity for them to experience the sound we aspire to at close range. This coming July the choir is going on a study tour in England (Lincoln, Cambridge, Norwich and Ely). This concert will serve them well in preparing for it."
The programme includes compositions by Vaughan Williams, Ireland, Bainton, Stanford, Lassus and of course the two choirs will perform a number of these together. Sietze de Vries will accompany both choirs on the organ.
Reserved tickets cost € 15 , at the door € 18, students € 10. Free admission for children under 12 with a child's ticket.
