Wine tasting in the Aa Church
From Friday 30 September through Sunday 2 October the Aa Church forms the backdrop to a major new wine festival in Groningen.
Representatives of various wine shops, wineries and wine importers will be happy to tell visitors everything they know about their wines and to pour them a sample glass. The festival is an ideal opportunity to try different wines. Prices start at one coin per sample glass. A sample glass is a half a glass of wine, so that visitors can sample several different wines.
A full-bodied red Malbec from Argentina, a crisp Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand or a spicy Syrah from the Rhône Valley? You don't have to choose, taste them all and let yourself be surprised. And if you're feeling a bit peckish or don't want to drink on an empty stomach, we have everything from sandwiches to cheese platters to hot snacks on offer. The church will be furnished with tables and sofas for the duration of the festival so that you can enjoy your wine comfortably. And when you've selected your favourite wine you can order it directly from the exhibitor.
