Church open on Sunday afternoons
Sundays boring? Not any more: come to the Summer Sundays in the church in Leegkerk. Starting June 7th this medieval church is open to the public again every Sunday afternoon during the summer months (June, July and August).
Doors are open from 12 – 5 p.m. and everyone is welcome to come in and look around. You can also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of pie there. On these summer Sunday afternoons the church is staffed by volunteers from nearby Leegkerk.
On two summer Sundays there are cultural events in the church. On Sunday 14 June a Groningen Festival will be held in the church, with performances by Swinder, Herman Sandman en Jan Glas, to name but a few, and on Sunday July 19 there is a concert that is part of the Peter de Grote Festival (tickets must be purchased in advance).
